Terms and Conditions
North America Moving Company Effective Date: March 20, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By booking or using any service provided by North America Moving Company, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. These terms apply to all moves conducted within the United States and Canada. If you do not agree to these terms, please refrain from using our services.
2. Services Provided
North America Moving Company offers residential and commercial moving services across the United States and Canada, including but not limited to:
- Local and long-distance moving
- Cross-border moving between the U.S. and Canada
- Packing and unpacking services
- Loading and unloading assistance
- Temporary storage solutions
The specific services, pricing, and conditions for each move will be outlined in your service agreement or moving quote.
3. Booking and Reservations
- All bookings must be confirmed in writing via email or through our official booking platform.
- A deposit may be required at the time of booking to secure your moving date.
- Reservations are subject to availability and are not guaranteed until a confirmation is issued by our team.
4. Pricing and Payment
- All quoted prices are estimates based on information provided at the time of booking. Final charges may vary based on actual weight, distance, and additional services rendered.
- Full payment is due upon completion of the move unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- We accept major credit cards, bank transfers, and other approved payment methods.
- For cross-border moves between the U.S. and Canada, pricing will reflect applicable exchange rates and any customs or duty-related costs.
5. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
- Cancellations made more than 7 days before the scheduled move date will receive a full refund of the deposit.
- Cancellations made within 3–7 days of the move date may be subject to a 50% cancellation fee.
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of the move date are non-refundable.
- Rescheduling requests must be made at least 72 hours in advance and are subject to availability.
6. Customer Responsibilities
You, the customer, are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information about the volume, weight, and nature of items to be moved.
- Ensuring all items are properly accessible and ready for loading on the scheduled date.
- Disclosing any items that require special handling (e.g., antiques, artwork, fragile electronics, pianos).
- Obtaining any necessary permits or elevator reservations at origin and destination locations.
- Ensuring all parking access is available for our moving vehicles.
7. Prohibited Items
North America Moving Company will not transport the following items:
- Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or explosives
- Illegal substances or contraband
- Live animals or plants
- Perishable food items
- Firearms and ammunition (unless proper licensing and documentation are provided and comply with U.S. and Canadian law)
- Cash, jewelry, or irreplaceable personal documents (customers are advised to transport these personally)
8. Liability and Claims
- North America Moving Company carries standard liability coverage for all moves. Our liability is limited to $0.60 per pound per item unless additional valuation coverage is purchased.
- Customers are encouraged to purchase full replacement value protection for high-value items.
- Claims for loss or damage must be submitted in writing within 30 days of the delivery date. Claims submitted after this period will not be accepted.
- We are not liable for damage to items that were packed by the customer, pre-existing damage, or damage caused by acts of nature, road conditions, or other circumstances beyond our control.
9. Cross-Border Moves (U.S. & Canada)
- Customers are responsible for ensuring all items comply with U.S. and Canadian customs regulations.
- North America Moving Company will assist with standard customs documentation but is not responsible for delays, fines, or seizures resulting from prohibited or undeclared goods.
- Any applicable customs duties, taxes, or border fees are the sole responsibility of the customer.
- Delivery timelines for cross-border moves are estimates and may be affected by border processing times.
10. Delays and Force Majeure
North America Moving Company shall not be held liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to severe weather, road closures, border delays, labor disputes, mechanical breakdowns, or natural disasters. In such events, we will make every reasonable effort to communicate with you and reschedule at the earliest opportunity.
11. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes will be subject to binding arbitration in accordance with the laws of the applicable U.S. state or Canadian province where the service originated.
12. Privacy Policy
North America Moving Company collects and uses personal information solely for the purpose of providing and improving our services. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties except as required to fulfill your move or comply with legal obligations. For more details, please refer to our full Privacy Policy.
13. Amendments to Terms
North America Moving Company reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on our official website and will take effect immediately upon publication. Continued use of our services following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
